Adult Mental Health Services

Services include a functional assessment, individual community support plan, referral and assistance in getting needed mental health and other services, coordination of services and monitoring of the delivery of services. County staff provides case management services to clients diagnosed as severely and persistently mentally ill (SPMI). We offer services to persons with dual disorder (mentally ill and chemically dependent), older adults, and young adolescents transitioning to independent living.

Mental health services which are rehabilitative and enable the recipient to develop and enhance psychiatric stability, social competencies, personal and emotional adjustment, and independent living and community skills, when these abilities are impaired by the symptoms of mental illness. A person can receive this service if they are an MA eligible individual who is age 18 or older; is diagnosed with a medical condition, such as a serious mental illness or traumatic brain injury, for which adult rehabilitative mental health services are needed.

Home health care services include personal care attendants (PCA), skilled nursing services, including medication set up, and home health aides.  These services may be provided in combination with other services to enable a client to stay in a community setting.  Medical Assistance (MA) funds these services.

Various organizations outside Clearwater County provide structured, group-based services including medication monitoring, living skills training, and socialization groups.  Persons may be referred to these programs from hospitals or crisis programs as a transition back into the community, or from community settings where they are finding it difficult to manage on their own. A Clearwater County Social Service referral is required.

Family foster care offers supervised housing with supportive services.  Services are tailored to the individual's needs and may evolve to a permanent housing situation.

Employment and pre-vocational resources are available in the county.  In addition to community support program vocational services, mental health staff may refer persons to the state Rehab Services office as an entry point for referral to other supported employment resources.  Occupational Development Center, Inc. (ODC) offers supported and extended employment services.
