Summary of Responsibilities: 

Clearwater County Human Services is the County's public welfare and local social service agency.  The Department has three main components:  financial services, social services and an accounting department. 

The Financial Services Unit provides services that are those most often associated with "public welfare:"

•   Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP)
•   Medical Assistance (MA)
•   General Assistance Medical Care (GAMC)
•   Food Support Programs
•   Minnesota Supplemental Aid (MSA)
•   General Assistance (GA)
•   Energy Assistance 

Additionally within this Unit, the Department provides child support services.   

The Social Services Unit provides services in six cluster areas: 

•   Children's Services
•   Mental Health
•   Child Care
•   Developmental Disabilities
•   Chemical Dependency
•   Waiver
